Scoping

A pragmatic approach to understanding your needs

Of course we review data and contracts to map the ‘As-Is’ situation and a robust baseline. But we also take the time to get to know you. What’s worked in the past, what hasn’t, what are you hoping for? After all, it’s about putting in place the right solutions as well as competitive costs.

  • Develop an Approach Strategy for each category of work
  • Thorough understanding of data and contracts
  • Market interrogation and price/service benchmarking
  • Capturing needs and desires
  • Savings opportunity analysis

Hard Scoping

During the scoping phase, we collect ‘Hard’ data and fact, i.e. contract status, spend information, key products and suppliers, etc. If this data doesn’t exist or is hard to come by our team of Business Analysts are adept at data mining and utilising our e-Procurement suite to collect and cleanse data from the supply base.

Soft Scoping

Soft scoping is where we get to know your people. What have they done in the past? What’s worked? What hasn’t? How receptive is your business to change? Only through connecting and talking with people, and a combination of ‘Hard’ and ‘Soft’ scoping can you create Approach Strategies that will work and stand the test of time in your business.

Outputs

At the end of the Scoping Phase we produce a detailed and thorough Approach Strategy for each category scoped which includes:

  • A data summary
  • A thorough market overview including key drivers and indices
  • A clear summary of the proposed approach and achievable savings targets and timings.

In addition, we produce an overall Cost Base Reduction (CBR) plan and a detailed Scoping Report which sets out a potential ‘To Be’ vision of what the future could look like. In other words, the art of the possible.
